169 of 1001 Albums: The Youngbloods’ Elephant Man

History
This venture from The Youngbloods landed them at 118 on the Billboard charts from the American folk band.  This album was also the first one that featured no cover songs from other bands by the band. The mountain on the cover is actually referred to as Elephant Mountain though it is called Black Mountain.
My Thoughts
The Youngbloods are a fun band, though their music is difficult to find. I think “Smug” was the most enjoyable song on the album with it’s very folksy sound.  The others though didn’t capture me as much as that song did though, which was very disappointing. I think the album is worth another listen though to find if it grows on me over time since the sound is good.
