265 of 1001 Albums: Bob Marley and The Wailers’ Catch a Fire

History

This Jamaican band, created by Bob Marley, was made after the band was left stranded in America without any money to travel home. Their tour in the U.S. and U.K. helped establish the guys as a worldwide known band giving them stardom. Rolling Stones’, and other critics gave the album positive feedback. Catch A Fire is one of the most known reggae albums there is.

My Thoughts
I don’t think you can really go wrong with reggae. It has catchy vocals, and music. Also, the lyrics are usually very rich with culture, and social issues. It’s interesting music all the way around. This is the first time Bob Marley has showed up on the list though, and so far he is definitely the most memorable reggae artist to show up, but he isn’t the first. Though, I may not officially take up listening to reggae, I always enjoy listening to it when I do.
